After a long ride back from DC to our campsite in Fredericksburg we had a relaxing evening getting ready to leave for Charleston SC in the morning.
We didn't get to meet up with a number of people we wanted to but it was a good outing and I'm glad that I was able to be there with Art Simmons, my riding buddy, and fellow Vietnam combat vet. It was Art's first visit to the Wall and I'm hopeful it was a positive experience for him. I remember my first time and it can be overpowering. He handled it well and I'm sure he was moved by the experience of getting rubbings of the names of men he served with over there.
