Photos and commentary on Day 1
Some preliminary photos of the four of us on the way to DC. We rode 503 miles today to reach our destination at the KOA Campground in Gettysburg We're pictured here entering Pennsylvania on the Pennsylvania Turnpike headed for Gettysburg where we stayed in a KOA Campground Cabin. Quite cozy there with three men and the lovely Tamara. But, everyone behaved like proper lady and gentlemen and we had a great time. We got drenched on the Pennsylvania Turnpike but after a hot shower and a cold beer we were ready for whatever the second day was going to bring; or so we thought. It's hard to describe how hard it rained on this first leg of the trip but we were thankful we didn't have any mishaps (that came later) and we all made it safe. It was one of those rides where it was unsafe to keep riding and even more unsafe to stop. Pennsylvania needs more rest stops.
